CAAS Signed Supply Agreement With VW Joint Venture In China

China Automotive Systems, Inc., a leading supplier of power steering components and systems in China, announced that its subsidiary Jingzhou Henglong Automotive Parts Co. has an agreement with FAW Volkswagen delivers sophisticated power steering systems.
The agreement with a term of one year and an option to renew for a further two years, will start without delay. The servo systems to be installed in the VW Jetta and Audi vehicles in China. The first commercial will be broadcast by China Automotive Systems, 21 May 2007. Other terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The VW Jetta, produced since 1980 and has spanned five generations, is a version of the Golf sedan. After a decade long effort to improve our product R & D, quality control, production and after-sale customer service, we need to get to a game with a supplier to one of the world& 39;s largest automobile manufacturer " said Hanlin Chen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of China Automotive Systems.
Chen added: " We are very pleased to have this opportunity to secure a reliable and robust support for Volkswagen rapid growth in China. As China car OEM market continues to grow, we will focus on expanding our market share and strengthen our relationships with major OEMs, such as Volkswagen, by its high quality and competitive prices. Moreover, we will also continue to improve product quality and the ramp up production capacity in preparation for the potential opportunities outside of China. "
VW is also expanding the partnership with other auto giants. Porsche is reportedly contemplation on the possibilities that his beefed-up partnership with Volkswagen.
